It's nice to go back and see how much the kids have grown in a year, and seeing my 2010 pics has made me a little nostalgic for those "baby" days. The kids will be turning 7 & 10 this year! My how time flies.
So a little back tracking...
January 1, 2014 - Just after the clock struck midnight, we took this family pic while ringing in the New Year with friends. Thankfully, we were just 2 houses away from home, and made a mad dash back to the house to go to bed!
January 1, 2014 - Watching the Rose Parade in bed with waffles made by Daddy!
January 2, 2014 - Kids enjoying their Winter Break to the fullest. Pajamas all day and playing with iPods in bed. Oh to be a kid again!
January 5 - A few days were skipped... I'll have to check the DSLR... these have all been from my phone. This sweet Santa was hand made by my Grandma Delores Olson. She made one for each Great Grandchild, and included some spending money with him for Christmas. I love having these special hand made gifts my family can keep for generations.
January 6, 2014 - Some snuggles after a shower...it was COLD in Texas this week!
January 7, 2014 - Jim started the dishwasher, and shortly after noticed a large puddle of water coming out from the kitchen cabinets. ACK!! We (or he) quickly determined it was a drain pipe problem, because the water stopped leaking after the dishwasher was turned off. The plumbers could not make it to our house for 4 days!! When the temps drop into the 20's in TX, water pipes burst all over town. SO we were "triaged" because we still were able to use 2 out of 3 bathrooms, and didn't have to shut our water off. This is the result of trying to find the offending pipe. The back of the cabinet & drywall cut out. Thankfully, they did not have to cut a huge hole in the side of our house, but we will still have a small stucco repair to do.
January 7, 2014 - Caroline wearing the knit leg warmers by Auntie Martta! They are so cute with the ruffle on the bottom. And they kept her legs very warm on those 20 degree days. She said, "I love them!"
January 8, 2014 - Caroline holding her Caroline American Girl doll. I made this bishop style dress for her doll, and she loves using it as a nightgown. The fabric is old (and not cute), but I wanted to use it as a trial before cutting into nicer fabric. My girl loves it anyway, so it's not a waste!
I'll have to fill in the missing days as I can, but please comment or let me know you're following, so I have more motivation to keep this up!! You can also follow me on Instagram @scotsdot
